Porcelain

Porcelain countertops are a beautiful choice for those who enjoy clean lines, a sleek finish, and the look of marble, but worry that marble is too porous and susceptible to stains. Durability, resistance to heat from pots and pans, and ease of cleaning are among the many advantages of choosing porcelain.

Fabricating porcelain is labor intensive due to its hardness, and because achieving a thicker look similar to granite or quartz requires laminating it to a substrate surface. The 90-degree inside corners are a limitation of porcelain countertops that should be considered. When subjected to very high impact, porcelain may crack instead of chip, making quality repair quite difficult.
